Response to Fittipaldi et al. (2024)

Social class is a cultural context with potentially far-reaching cognitive and behavioral consequences. Fittipaldi and colleagues [1], however, examine the role of disparities in socioeconomic status (SES) as a key contributor to cognitive functioning. As they note, indicators of SES and class are often only modestly correlated and should not be used interchangeably. With this distinction in mind, we offer several clarifications in response to their letter.
